Uprights, baby grands and concert grands — moved by trained piano crews with a flat price you get in writing first.
Pianos are not furniture, and we don't move them like furniture. Uprights travel strapped to a piano dolly with full-body padding. Grands are disassembled properly — lid, lyre and legs removed — wrapped, and boarded on a piano skid. Stairs get ramps or controlled stair-walks with a dedicated spotter. Your piano is the only item the crew handles during the carry.
| Instrument | Ground-floor move | With stairs |
|---|---|---|
| Spinet / console upright | $250–$350 | $350–$500 |
| Full upright | $300–$420 | $420–$600 |
| Baby grand (under 5'8") | $400–$550 | $550–$750 |
| Grand (5'8"+) | $550–$750 | $750–$1,000 |
Prices are flat and confirmed in writing after we see photos of both locations. Moving a piano as part of a full household move? It's added to your hourly move at a reduced flat add-on instead.
Hollywood Hills steps, Silver Lake stair streets, Palisades canyon drives — piano access in LA is half the job. Send us photos of the path at both ends and the quote covers everything: crew size, equipment, and any shuttle or crane day if a hillside grand truly needs one.
Yes — stairs are most of our piano work in LA. We use ramps or controlled stair-walks with a spotter, and the stair price is in your written quote.

No, but allow 2–3 weeks for the instrument to acclimate, then book any local tuner; moving itself rarely knocks a well-maintained piano far out of tune.
